Self-Publishing as a Beginner

Back in 2018, I was feeling an itch to get some of the things I had written out into the world. I decided to self-publish. Amazon is a super easy way to self-publish. They walk you through the steps and it costs you nothing. But, what do you do after that?

My first attempt to garner readers was to print out cards with the QR codes and a discount for the book. I also paid a horror influencer to post about it. This led to a few hundred readers and 14 reviews. But... it dwindled after that.

Things got busy, we started a family and moved states and jobs. I was told the key to success on Amazon is publishing monthly or every other month. That's not always practical, but maybe it's the only way.

While I work on getting out a few more books, I made this website, created a TikTok, updated my IG and Facebook, started a YouTube channel, and tested out some advertising. If you're reading this... something must have been successful.
